Conquering Abaddon

A short film summarizing the YA trilogy “The Halls of Abaddon” by Susan Nadathur. This film was shot on location in Sabana Grande, Puerto Rico, and features performances by students of Leonides Morales Rodriguez High School in Lajas, Puerto Rico. Click here to watch the video.

“Abandon all hope, ye who enter here” is the message that greets Jadiel as he approaches the iron gates of Abaddon. High school in Hell is not where Jadiel planned to spend his final year as a warden of the state. But when he rebels against the severe rules and conservative attitudes of his guardians, he is exiled to Abaddon.

Abaddon is a place of torment where Headmaster Lucius has erected a school. Lucius is a ruthlessly cunning, mind-blowingly intelligent, master of psychological warfare. The school is a game, and the game is a plan. to lead to the students’ destruction. In Abaddon, Jadiel will be tested, tortured, and broken down. But with all he has inside of him — his skills, his strength, his spirit, he will either fight his way out of Abaddon, or die trying.
