Be part of a community that encourages, rejuvenates and connects creative people at seaside locations around the world (currently offered in San Juan, Puerto Rico). Our community consists of writers, poets, artists, musicians, and other creative individuals who see the beauty of God’s Creation through artistic eyes.
Our meet-ups are a combination of fellowship, support, and art/culture themed activities. Our time together is a combination of free time for writing, painting and relaxing, combined with organized trips that explore local art, music, food, and culture. Our meet-ups focus on inspiring creativity and providing thought-provoking discussions that tap into the healing power of the sea. Together, we will take a journey into our creative selves and reflect on how living an ordinary life of creativity can lead to extraordinary healing, happiness, and peace through the power of the sea.
A Seat by the Sea is the realization of a decades-long dream to connect artists and writers from around the world in a place that has inspired creative people for centuries: the Caribbean. There is a special kind of inspiration to be found here. The turquoise waters, the vibrancy of its people, the warm sands and the balmy nights have led writers and artists to the Caribbean for as long as men have put pen to paper and brush to palette. Hemingway went to Cuba. We journeyed here, to Puerto Rico.
A Seat by the Sea is not a money-making activity. But to help deflect some of the costs of organizing this event, a modest administrative fee of $30 is charged per person. Accommodations, airfare, food and local transportation/tours are the responsibility of each participant. We are more than happy to help with hotel/airline recommendations based on your budget and our knowledge of the island. For those who wish to stay longer on the island and need help with additional tours and accommodations outside of San Juan, a $35/hour fee is charged for concierge services.
